Hypocrites

Post by T on Wed Jun 21, 2017 9:00 pm

For years you Republican, Tea Party types b*tched and moaned about how the ACA was rammed through in the dark of night, even though it took two years with many hearings held. The process started in 2008 and didn't end until the ACA became law in 2010.

Almost nobody knows (99.99999% of Republicans in the House and Senate don't know who is actually writing the bill) what the Senateís health care plan (Trumpery Care) will look like because itís been drafted behind closed doors with no public hearings, no copies for anyone to see and no updates on what it might contain.

And Republican, Tea Party types are absolutely OK with this secrecy. dunno

You Republican, Tea Party types really are the biggest hypocrites on earth, and appear to be proud of it. †bow

Ironically, Trumpery Care will screw Trumpery supporters first and foremost. whistling

And last month, Trumpery hailed the House plan with a self-adoring, staged celebration. †hughug

Now Trumpery says the House plan is "mean".
lol!

Mitch McConnell is expected to release the Senate's Trumpery Care bill today. But first, he has to find the person who's writing it. party

FYI - 60% of American seniors in nursing homes rely on Medicaid to pay the bill. †If nursing homes lose this financial support, their future is in doubt. †

When the Senate Trumpery Care bill is released, focus on its Medicaid provisions.

One thing that's a given. †The "individual mandate" will be gone. † If 1/3 of the population is not required to participate, then the remaining 2/3 will have to pick up the tab.

I wonder what would happen to our National Defense if everyone was not required to participate? dunno

So, to summarize, the House and/or Senate GOP health care bills will do the following:

* Cuts taxes by almost a $1 trillion over the next ten years, mostly for corporations and the richest families.

* Guts Medicaid, though the House Bill does it faster. †If you have a senior requiring nursing home care, good luck. If you live in a rural area like Rumford, kiss your community hospital good-bye.

* If you're older, you'll pay more, a lot more. The Republican House bill allows insurers to charge older adults up to 5 times more. The Senate bill, generally does the same. You probably will not be able to afford health insurance. †But, there's always Medicaid. Oops! That'll be gone too.

* Have a pre-existing condition? †With the Republican House bill, you're screwed. †The Republican Senate bill does provide you with some protections, but not at the same level as Obamacare.

* The mandate to carry health insurance will be gone with both the House and Senate bills. †That's right, let's shrink the risk pool and raise rates for those of us who have the good sense to carry health insurance.

* Obamacare requires all insurance plans cover hospitalization, office visits, prescriptions, maternity and childbirth, substance abuse treatment, rehabilitation, and preventive services, including birth control at no additional charge for women. These are called "essential services". Both the House and Senate bills provide loopholes for states to seek waivers of these "essential services".

Republican, Tea Party types frequently complain that the "pre-existing condition" protections the ACA provides is akin to buying homeowners insurance after the house has burned to the ground. †It's not fair to the poor insurance companies. Sad

Well, there is a way to solve that problem. †Provide health insurance for all Americans on the day they are born. †Kinda like our national defense is provided the day we are born.
