Kevin - it's pretty narrow to assume people can't think for themselves...for instance, as much as I like you, I disagree with at least 50% of everything you say...lol...

Plus, putting aside the past implies that we are no longer affected today by those actions and decisions...I say we surely are. I hear people still blame Eldridge, Jolene, Jim, Mark, Arthur, Frank, Jennifer, let's see, I just heard Cameron is responsible for the casino loss (who knew?). Blame is laid to the firemen, the police, Andy Russell, Carlo, the Charter Commission, Walter Buotte, Jason...in fact, I hear lots of blaming all around on a regular basis...let's go on shall we? Anonymous posters, building inspectors, Section 8 people, youth of America, people from away, Seth, Jennifer Kreckel, Med-care, Ron Therriault...who else? One would have to be blind or naive not to see this very lovely human attribute...here are a few more names...Buccina, Stacy Carter, the Rumford Public Library, the people who approved the river path, whoever got rid of the fireworks, vendors who don't pay taxes...on and on and on...don't blame me if I've forgotten anyone. It's what people tend to do: Place blame. Hardly ever do people let go of the past. Hey, maybe we can get everyone into a big wellness workshop on forgiveness? Maybe Patty Dugay could put that on Healthy Communities' agenda. Maybe we could have it coupled with the drug testing policy - attitude testing...sorry, now I'm just entertaining myself...lol

...Kevin, you should run. No one's been blaming you for anything lately!

Kevin, have you considered running? While, like Timeout, I only agree with you 50% of the time, I do think you are smart and you certainly are a stickler for following the rules (which isn't always a bad thing). You also do seem to be able to see more than one side of an issue.

well, you have already had the experience. and also time enough away from it to have a more objective view. I think that's a big plus.

While I am at it, I might as well stick my finger in an outlet while standing in water filled with ravenous flesh eating fish. It would be less painful Smile

seriously, though, people have a sense of what you stand for and I don't think anyone would ever question your integrity. My only problem with you, and that's not personal, is that you are such a follower of rules, but that' s not always a bad thing either.

Hey Kevin, now here's one of the 50% things I agree with you on... sunny I think it would be just like sticking a finger into a light socket while standing in a puddle!

well, timeout, i was thinking YOU should run too. there may be room in the light socket for TWO fingers, and I am sure SOMEONE could come up with enough flesh eating fish to go around.

also, i think the people on this forum have enough mutual respect for each other to conduct themselves with dignity (ok, beyond the barracuda thrown in the pool...)

I agree with you xmashen. People here are decent to each other as evidenced by the way Jason was treated after his letter. I don't think anyone here wants blood (except for those nasty fish).
Hey Kevin, now here's one of the 50% things I agree with you on... sunny I think it would be just like sticking a finger into a light socket while standing in a puddle!
Are you speaking from experience?? If not, how can you verify the comparison?

FYI, I have had such an experience (less the fish). I was in Europe (where the voltage is 220, not 110) and I was taking a bath. I had locked the door, but needed something from outside. I called my father to get it, and had to unlock the door for him to get it to me. I leaned over and my hand touched an under-insulated surface mounted wire. Needless to say I became enlightened  as to the dangers of doing so. It was a (literally) shocking Shocked experience Laughing .

omg Kevin...what next?! Truthfully I have never stuck my finger or any other appendage in a light socket, although I did see my then four-year-old brother stick a knife in an outlet...he didn't seem to like it so I never tried it myself.

Been there, done that (when I was much younger). That didn't have the same kick as the bathtub incident. Wink

I literally have a different story for each year I was in school. My permanent record must be as thick as the national budget.
