You need to change your name though. Statistics show that if anyone is undecided they vote for the first person therefore you need to change your name to “A”.

If she looks like that pic, I would vote for her. Maybe more people would attend the meetings (sure, it would be more guys, but hey! more is more) and voice their opinions to the selectmen. After they roll their tongues in. lol!

Of course not, I am saying that basing a decision merely on looks is irresponsible.

Kevin, lighten up just a little, will you? I can assure you that the responsible voting people DO NOT base their voting on looks. Stop trying to belittle everyone. Stop nit-picking. And, for Gods sake, drop the holier-than-thou attitude.

C, I am sorry. Timeout's pic brings me back to a time when things were not so bad. I remember cross-country skiing through the woods, peacefully. Riding horses through the snow on nights illuminated by the full moon. Watching the chickadees flit from branch to branch, just to be sure I was not a threat to them. Timeout's pic reminds me of aa time when peace was the norm, rather than something of dreams.

I'm afraid I would rather vote for Timeout, based on her pic, than you. Nothing personal.

I hope I'm not criticized for basing my decision on a picture.

Re: NEW YEAR'S 2009 PREDICTIONS

Post by KevinNSaisi on Thu Jan 01, 2009 3:57 am

I think it is other posters who need to lighten up. Whenever I post, either Timeout tries to beat me down, someone takes offense, or I am told I am picking on someone. If I were uptight, I guess I would be darned justified in being so. However, I am not being uptight. Often I am being jovial and playful. Unfortunately, since everyone has pre-conceived notions about my intent, they don't see it that way. I try to use the smiley faces to denote my intent, but I don't always remember to do so. Sometimes I do intend a comment as written, such as the one above pointing out that they are stating that they are going to vote for someone based upon their avatar, but tear me apart on my decision making.

The way I am received here, I do not know why I keep trying. I feel like the kid who gets beat up on the playground, but still goes out every day. I guess I just wish that you would all stop attacking people and discuss topics in a sensible, logical, mature manner. But, I fear that will never be possible on this forum.

Re: NEW YEAR'S 2009 PREDICTIONS

Post by Admin on Thu Jan 01, 2009 10:01 am

When I read Kevin's post, I thought he was joking around about basing votes on looks. As Kevin pointed out though, it's hard to always read intent in text form. It's best to either give the benefit of the doubt or ask for more information. I often see people making light of what others may have considered a slam. That's a great strategy. Just like in any communication between people, things will never be perfect.

My New Years prediction is that those on this forum will get just a little bit better at giving others the benefit of the doubt.

Happy New Year everyone! party
